The Nova Scotia Agri-Insurance program provides some compensation to farmers that have experienced losses as a result of wildlife damage.
There are funding opportunities for a range of environmental activities under:Manure Management, Water Management, Soil Management, Production Management, Energy Management. The program opens early in the calendar year.
NSLC Adopt A Stream provides financial and technical support to non-profit, community groups in Nova Scotia undertaking projects that improve or restore fish habitat or fish populations.
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) will assist farmers to restore wetlands on their farms that have been altered in the past by human activity, by excavating ponds or through the placement of berms and water control structures.
Since 1985, Wildlife Habitat Canada, a national, non-profit, charitable conservation organization, has invested over $50 million supporting more than 1,000 conservation projects across Canada, through its granting program.
