Insects provide many services to farms and agricultural operations; from pollination to waste processing to pest control. As ‘regulators’ of the ecosystem around farms, often issues with insects are only identified when the system is out of balance. Creating habitat for insects and using best management practices that encourage healthy communities of insects and other invertebrates can boost the services provided on your farm.
